Dr Varadarajan, Founder-Principal talks about the strengths of NES International School, Mumbai

Dr. R Varadarajan, Founder-Principal

While still in its early stage, NES International - IB World School. Mumbai, has created several landmarks.

One student achieved the world's topmost rank in Higher English, last year.

Our students have topped the entire country in IGCSE exams consecutively for years.

Another IB Diploma student singularly represented the country at the World Earth Science Olympiad and stood 3rd.

These records of excellence show the high degree of specialized care we impart - in academics, co-curricular and other innovative activities.

Excellent grooming, state-of-the-art infrastructure and a one-to-one caring system have made the students self-reliant to take over and successfully execute national and global events through the governing Education Group's year long Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

The NES Space Exploration Programme of 2012, was presided over by world astronaut Capt Jon McBride from NASA. We celebrated its first anniversary in our school on 1st March, 2014.

The NES World Peace Congress 2013, was organised in the midst of Nobel Laureates and Global Speakers. Enamoured by our success, this programme has been entrusted to Berlin Brandenburg International School, Germany to celebrate its 1st anniversary in 2014.

The NES National Science Festival, in memory of Sir CV Raman, celebrated its 2nd anniversary at NESISM on 28th February, 2014. This event attracted participants from all over the world with best utilization of sciences for the mankind. It empowered the students with an in-depth grasp of science, space science and the importance of peace.

Our passion for space science attracted ISRO and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre who have committed to set up a Space Pavilion in NESISM. With this set up, every year a new batch of 30 budding scientists will be visiting and camping at ISRO to learn more about space science. The first batch is due to move in October 2014.

We are incubating tomorrows scientists, right here at NES International School Mumbai- IB World School, and that warms my cockles.

A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image.

The achievement of this dream school would not have been possible without the selfless dedication of our faculty.

Plus my thanks go out to the parents of our students. Their keen interest in the progress of the school, has been our greatest strength in reaching where we are today.I am of the opinion that today, the curriculum should be oriented towards present day needs. I am planning to include subjects like Peace, Patriotism and Space Science so that your child will be a finely crafted diamond that will shine and spread light all around.

Before I conclude, I pray to the Almighty for his divine blessings on my dear students. And convey my sincere wishes to the faculty members.

Director’s Message

V Balasubramanian, Director, talks about his vision for NES International School in this video

V Balasubramanian, Director - NES International School, Mumbai

Dear Students and Faculty
It has been 9 years since we started this school, though with some apprehension initially. But the ‘gene’ of education prevailed over all apprehensions.

We took all possible pains to procure the best infrastructure, select the best faculty members, construct our own school building and gave a kick start to the school, shifting from its make-shift arrangement to its own newly constructed, picturesque building. Today, I can confidently vouch that the school, at a scenic locality in Mulund (W), with its own stately building, the best of infrastructure, the best faculty and the best educational methods and above all, the one-to-one relation created by the management and faculty on one side and the students and parents at the other, has made the school a coveted one. Acquiring the existing school land, housing this prestigious epitome of education with its own play ground, are giving the school a look with all difference.

I am happy that our students are exacting top ranks, not only in India but in the world as a whole which are no ordinary achievements. The national and world ramifying programmes organized with a lead from our student-leaders in organising the parent body's yearlong Golden jubilee Celebration, which to name, are 'NES Space Exploration Programme', NES World Peace Congress, NES National Science Festival and their follow-up anniversaries, have emboldened our students to tackle all challenges of life. I am confident, a day will come, when the school will top at the country and even the world levels in every sphere-academic, sports and co-curricular. To achieve these we shall have to strive yet harder and keep the momentum to reach the zenith of success.

Wishing my dear students and faculty members the very best for the new academic year 2014-15.

Ananyaa is very excited about the current uoi topic air. As soon as she came home she explained the entire experiment of candle and jar. I thank you for making learning so much fun for Ananyaa and developing the qualities of a thinker in her with such experiments.
Thanks a lot!

Indeed the sports day this year was equally exciting as it has been since past two years .

Meticulously planned , perfect time management and efforts of the teachers and PE team were the main commendable aspects of this sports day .

Nafees has shown a lot of understanding and confidence about the UOI Houses. He has started explaining the types of houses that are there according to the weather of the places we live in. He really had fun and showed interest while practicing making the stilt house at home for the summative assessment and a little more about stilt house to explain it in class.

Jamil and Abida Ansari (Father and Mother of Nafees Ansari, Grade 1D)

Ishaan has been enjoying school. He has been singing the ‘Healthy and junk food’ song that they have learned in school. He thoroughly enjoyed the spelling bee conducted by Principal sir last week. He loves the space videos that they watch during break times. He has explained how Pluto’s orbit crosses into Neptune’s, how the atmosphere scatters the sun’s rays during sunset and sunrise to make the sky look red

Mother of Ishaan, Grade 1C

I am grateful for all the wonderful things the school and Tanvi Teacher are doing for our son Noel. He is growing extremely intellectual and physically active by the day. We loved both the grammar fest and sports day arrangements. Lot of trouble was taken. The school and his teacher have been working very hard to make him good, better and eventually best.

I am happy to see how Shiven has been taught the UOI ‘Rainforest’ and ‘Needs and Wants’. He understood it very well that he came home and explained the same to us. I like how he is interested in his studies and he comes home and shares the same. Once again thank you to the homeroom teacher and NESISM School for putting in so much effort towards our child.

The progress and development of Dishita has always been overwhelming. I have always had good results from her. Thanks to the homeroom teacher who has taken care of her not only in her studies but also her behavior and habits. Great thanks to the NESISM team.

My daughter has shown positive development thanks to the training and learning she is receiving at school. She is willing to help people, she even helps me and her father in our everyday activites. It is amazing to see how she is practically applying her learnings from school in her daily life. We are quite happy with her conduct and would like to sincerely thank her teachers and the entire management.

Myra by now has completely accustomed and adjusted to the routine and culture of NESISM. I am very delighted to notice that she has taken the least time to adjust in the school. She speaks with a lot of pride about her school in front of the family. We are looking forward to learn and grow together.

Improvement in Parini’s confidence is reflected at home. She has started opening up and mingling with others. She tries to read different words and enjoys the same. She has evolved as a good sports person. She discusses a lot about the topics taught to her in school.
