What programme do you offer?
We are currently offering three programmes: IB Primary Years Program from Nursery till grade 5, CIE programme from Grade 6 to Grade 10, and finally the IB DP programme for Grades 11 and 12. We are offering the IGCSE program as a 2 year programme for grades 9 and 10.
What is the admission procedure?
Admission involves visit to the school, followed by briefing by the admissions officer to the parent, completing the admission form, interaction of the student with the section head (teacher incharge of the particular section viz: early years/primary years/middle school years or Diploma years) followed by the payment of prescribed fees (all these are subject to the availability of seats).
Do you have online admission forms?
We are in the process of developing an online admission form but as of now you may have to arrange to collect the admission forms from the school and send in the completed form via post to our office.
What is the paperwork required in order to secure admission in your school?
In order to secure admission form with all other required documents. The paperwork will include attested copies of 1) last three years academic report cards, 2) Original Birth Certificate (for preprimary classes i.e. till Sr. K.G.), and 3) medical fitness certificate, 4) the original school transfer certificate duly signed by the Principal. In addition, we will need three pass port size photos of the child and one of each parent.
What are the fees and can you explain me the fee structure?
The fee structure is published on our website and is updated in November every year, before our admission process begins. Please visit our website for the fee structure: www.nesinternational.org. The admission fees are one time and non-refundable. The deposit is one time but refundable when your child leaves the school under the condition that he must have completed at least two years of education with us. The tuition fees will have to be paid annually.
My child has never studied Hindi/ German; can he still be admitted in your school?
Hindi/ German Language will be offered at the basic level i.e. at the beginning level and assessment will be done in the most appropriate way in order to help your child progress through the curriculum. The assessment will be based on student’s individual progress as opposed to his/her peer’s performance.
Can we get reference from current parents in our neighborhood?
Regarding the contact of people around your neighbourhood, we will have to check with the families if they are comfortable sharing the information. Besides, we will be conducting parent orientations in the beginning of the School year and other relevant workshops and seminars will be held at frequent intervals, which will give you several opportunities to interact with other parents.
Can we get the bus route chart?
The bus route chart and schedules change every year due to the number of students on each bus route and also the number of students being picked up and dropped off from each stop. The intimation regarding the details of your bus route will be provided to you as soon as it is available.
We are not completely sure about our relocation/transfer at this time. Can you reserve a seat for my child for next year?
We do not offer this facility.
We reside out of India. How can we make the payment?
You can pay us through cheque or DD. Usually all our NRI admissions are completed with the help of local relatives through personal cheques/DD. If you do not have that option, then we can provide you with our bank details in which you can make a direct electronic transfer.
Your fees seem to be quite high compared to other schools?
Ours is one of the few international schools in India that offers a purely International curriculum right from playgroup till Grade 12. If you compare the fees with other international schools offering same curriculum, you will find that we fall among one of the schools charging lowest fees.
What are the languages offered in your school?
Hindi, Marathi and German are introduced from Grade 1. We offer French language from Checkpoint 3 i.e. Grade 8 onwards. In IGCSE i.e. grade 9, students can choose between Hindi/French.
How is the assessment done in NESISM?
Until grade 5 assessments is on an ongoing basis and the children are not stressed about exams. Checkpoint years is a foundation program to the 2 year IGCSE program as it prepares our students to sit for an exam and write the highly competitive exams conducted by the CIE(Cambridge International Examinations).
What are the age criteria for admission?
The age criteria for Playgroup are 1.5 years, Nursery is 2.5 years and above, Jr.KG is 3.5 years and above, and Sr.KG is 4.5 years and above as of March 31st. Grade 1 is 5.5 years and above and so on.
I read on your website that you follow “IB Primary years” programme. What does this programme cover? I have not heard about this, so please give me more details about this.
IB stands for International Baccalaureate, which was founded by International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva. Please visit their official website www.ibo.org for more information about the same.
How many students are taught per class?
We at NESISM maintain an optimum class size of 25 students.
What are the school timings?
Playgroup and Nursery: 9.30 am to 1.30 pm
Jr. KG and Sr. KG.: 8.30 am to 2.00 pm
Grades 1 to 12: 8.30 am to 3.30 pm
Do you have lunch facility, cafeteria, etc.?
Cafeteria services are available against payment.
Does the school have a swimming pool, gymnasium, sports ground, etc.?
We have a gymnasium, for swimming classes we take students to a nearby Club in Mulund and for all the outdoor sports activities we take them to Vasant Park which is right across the street. For indoor sports like opti golf and for music, dance, drama and art etc. we have adequate provisions within our school building. Currently our building is under construction. Once that is done, we have provision for building our own swimming pool.
Do you have full authorization to run the IB program?
Yes, IB-DP program will be offered as a combined 2-year program, and we have the authorization for the same. IB-PYP authorization takes some time to complete. It is a three year long and we are currently at the candidate status. You could check the www.ibo.org official website.
Is transportation to and from school available?
Yes, our air conditioned buses go up to Thane, Powai, Andheri, Ghatkopar, Chembur and Vashi.
Let us know the documentation required from other countries for admission at NESISM?
You will need a school transfer letter signed by the School Principal, attested by the country clerk and then from the Indian Consulate in that country.
Let us know the documentation required from UK Schools?
The School certificates can be certified by a Public Notary and apostilled by Foreign and Commonwealth Office of U.K. the Indian High Commission does not attest documents already ‘apostilled’ by FCO. For more information, we will therefore, accept original documents ‘apostilled’ by FCO UK.
